Expanding a Charming Cottage on the Lake

The Lakeside Retreat project involved both an addition and extensive updates to an original lake cottage, enhancing its functionality while maintaining its cozy, cottage charm. One of the key changes was the transformation of the screened porch at the basement level into a fully finished rec room, complete with a small bar. The basement also received new flooring, enhancing the overall comfort and functionality of the entire home. This new space offers stunning views of the water and is perfect for relaxing or entertaining.

Above the rec room, the deck was converted into a sunroom, creating a bright, airy space to enjoy the outdoors year-round. A screen porch was also added off to the side of the sunroom, providing a comfortable space to relax without the worry of insects. These additions expanded the home’s living space while maximizing its connection to the lake.

Inside the cottage, the kitchen and living area received an upgrade, moving the space toward a more modern look while keeping the cozy atmosphere intact. The wood wainscoting was removed, and new flooring was installed throughout, bringing the home into a fresh, updated style. The kitchen was completely revamped with new cabinetry and a spacious center island.
